As pancreatitis goes their is no real treatment for it, however there are some steps that doctors take in order to help some one with pancreatitis. First of these is that your doctor may decide to hospitalize you to give IV fluids and monitor your pain. these are steps are for more geared towards those whose pancreatitis is due to gallstones. Other treatments for pancreatitis include surgery to remove any gallstones in the body, or to remove the fluids or deceased tissue in the pancreas.
As for chronic pancreatitis doctors may recommend that you see a pain specialist if your experiencing long term pain or discomfort. Doctors may also recommend that you change your diet or take enzyme supplements so as to help your body break down nutrients from you food.
